Thanks a lot for this post! It has helped a lot! I have one question. Once I login with via root is asking me for a password for the aim user? I put the secret id but it is not working. Please, your help here will be much appreciated. I haven’t been able to find any tutorial on this. Thanks in advance!

    Hi Onur

I appreciate the info, but I’m still a bit confused. I followed along from
    http://docs.aws.amazon.com/IAM/latest/UserGuide/InstallCert.html#CreateSigningRequestCSR
which is very similar to your post—the commands are slightly different.

I have successfully generated RSA private key and entered the information that will be incorporated into the certificate request, but I don’t understand how to obtain the certificate so I can upload (copy and paste) it into the iAM console. Below are the command lines I used,

    openssl genrsa 2048 > cp66-private-key.pem
openssl req -new -key cp66-private-key.pem -out csr.pem

what command makes it so I can see the pem file in text format?
I took a screen shot of my cmd window if that would help

    Thank you for your time!
